studded head-band

22 Jun

20120621-164151.jpg

Making this head-band is simple and it looks great with so many outfits. It can be another studded accessory or something to give your outfit a little edge πŸ˜‰
You can make this headband with what ever studs you choose I made one with pyramids and one with spikes. The pyramid one looks really cute but needed a little more work and the studs fell out a couple of times 😦 The spike one was a lot easier and the studs always staid in place.
you will need
* A head band (I used my favorite goodie head-bands in black)
* studs
* flat or round pliers (I prefer the flat ones)

20120621-165020.jpg

how to

1) place the head band inside the stud 2) fold the “teeth” into the head band overlapping them onto each other

3) continue this process until at least half of the head band is full.
4) pull the head band to check for any loose studs and fix them if they need tightening
5) Enjoy your head band and rock it around town πŸ˜‰

Perfect Red Lipstick

22 Jun

Tomorrow is the perfect day to wear and rock red lips, sexy, sultry, and just right. BUT you need to wear it properly because if you don’t they could look very dry, and odd and if you don’t moisturize and exfoliate they will look flaky! EEk!! So to make you feel confident about your cute puckers here’s a great video showing you how to do it…
P.S. Don’t forget to blot it will make the lipstick stay on your lips and not all over everything else, for a perfect night. xoxo

DIY Suspenders for him

22 Jun

I found this cute tutorial onΒ A BEAUTIFUL MESSand it is the perfect little gift for himπŸ’œ

20120212-233806.jpg

20120212-233823.jpg
1. Supplies: 3 yards of elastic (ours was 1 inch wide), suspender clips, sewing machine. 2. Once you’ve made the correct measurements, simply attach the clips by putting the elastic through the hook so that the front of the clip isn’t on the same side as the end of elastic. Sew a straight line across the layers of elastic to secure the hook. Once you have clips on all four ends, you’re ready to to sew them together! 3. Layer them in an X form with back ends having about 5 inches of elastic. You’ll want the X to be longer in height than in width so that the suspenders aren’t too wide. Think of it as it could fit into the corners of a rectangle verses a square. Once it’s layered correctly, sew it together by topstitching a diamond shape through both layers.
The also have a few other great tutorials, a great one on how to make a bow tie and a great romantic painting.

Valentines Day Tutorial

22 Jun

So Valentines day is almost here and wether your planning on celebrating it or not the great thing is that you have a great excuse to wear pink. Which I must say looks great on everyone
So to help you celebrate, I will be uploading posts this week to get you ready. I’ll post Valentines nails you can do, getting ready to look gorgeous and hand made gifts πŸ˜‰
Here’s my manicure to give you loads of ideas. It I’m going to be posting the design for each nail separately.

20120204-161930.jpg

Here is the tutorial for hearts on your nails…
what you’ll need

20120206-155142.jpg
1) a light pink base coat
2) a hot pink stripes nail polish (the kind that has the super thin brush)
3) a hot pink nail pen (to clean up the heart and make it look prettier)
**) if you have a steady hand you can probably use just the pen or the stripes nail polish you might not need both. Just depends on how good you are. But I needed both πŸ™‚

ok let’s get started

20120206-155809.jpg
(sorry the colors look a little washed out they are much brighter in person, my camera was doing some weird thing with the lighting)

#1. Start with your base coat a solid pretty light pink
#2 Make a V at the bottom half of your nail with the hot pink stripes nail polish
#3 On the top half make a kind ofΒ mΒ that meets up with the bottomΒ V
#4 fill it in with the same hot pink color
*optional* define your heart a little more by going over it with your nail pen.
Finish it off with with your top coat
… and your ready to set off on your adventures but instead of having your heart on your sleeve you’ll have it on your nails πŸ˜‰
Have fun!

Purple and pink cheetah nails tutorial

22 Jun

This is a really fun nail art to have and it’s pretty simple since there is no reason for perfection the little imperfections are what makes them look tres tres chic⚑

So this is what the finished product looks like

20120126-142109.jpg

you will need:
A lavender nail polish mines from sephora
A neon pink nail polish mines from Sally Girl
A black nail polish mines is Nabi
And a dotting tool
Oh and of course nail polish remover and some make up pads to use with it

20120126-142452.jpg
* the pink nail polish is really neon. It for some weird reason didn’t photograph well.

So here is the simple way to do this:

20120126-142909.jpg
1. Coat your nail with the lavender color
2. Using a dotting tool (or the round end of a bobby pin) make random dots/squares with the pink. *But not to close to each other
3. using the smaller side of your dotting tool or a toothpick get black and make brackets [ ] and parenthesis ( ) around the pink dots
4. Finish by putting little dots in the empty spaces
voila! Your done let then dry and put a top coat if you’d like. I prefer not to because I like the way the texture looks
